Two Phone Topics

Two phone topics!  First, ask listeners to finish this sentence:  “Thanksgiving was going great until (blank) showed up.”  Here’s another – today is Cyber Monday.  See if any listeners will admit that they’re going to work today, but will really spend all their time shopping online.

Wednesday Closings

Take a survey of workers on your show this week to find out what time their offices close on Wednesday for the long holiday weekend.  Give A+’s to the bosses who go with noon, and an F-minus to those keeping their workers until 5pm (no names so you’re not sued!).

Naughty or Nice?

Almost time for Santa so putting kids on fits any radio brand!  Go find a bunch of cute kids and ask them, based on the last year, if their brothers and sisters deserve to be on Santa’s naughty or nice list – then ask why.

The Thanksgiving Thank You

We’re now about a week away from Thanksgiving.  How about finding someone who did something nice for you (or a listener) once in life, get them on, and publicly thank them for putting goodness in your world?

The Perv Pool

Take calls from only women and ask them to suggest the name of the next actor who, in the next week, will be accused of sexual harassment.  If possible, if someone chooses the name of the next actor named, give them a prize.  Call it the Perv Pool.  Thanks to Sherman and Tingle, WDRV, Chicago, for this idea.

Let’s Get Our Flu Shots

Who likes to get shots?  Absolutely no one.  And it usual dates back to when we were kids and had to go to the doctor.  Which is why everyone on the show will get their yearly flu shot live on the air.  So listeners can hear the trepidation and connect with laughter.

Why Should We Give Your Mom a Monster Makeover?

With Halloween about a week away, find some enterprising mother in the audience, bring her in Halloween morning, and have a local make-up artist give her a Monster Makeover.  You can do all of this on Facebook Live to grab the visual side of this.  Then join her at work to grab more audio for your next show and video for your social media channels.

Alexa, Will We Win?

No doubt that the “in” voice now is Alexa.  Scan the internet to find an Alexa sound-alike and ask her questions like if local sports teams will win their football games, and the like.  Writing and producing funny Alexa responses to pop culture, local, or questions from listeners could be a nice, fun bit to do.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The entire month of October is dedicated to bringing awareness to breast cancer.  What might be very compelling is to have the women on your show have a mammogram on the air on one day with her results being delivered the next day at the very same time live on the show.

The Mystery Question

“The Mystery Question” is a new feature where you ask a certain segment of the audience to call without knowing why, other than you have a question you will ask them once they’re on the show to prove something.  Today’s mystery question is out to prove that no woman knows who Ron Jeremy is.  Load the phones up with women, then once on (or once you’re taping), ask them if they know who he is.  For those of you who don’t know, he’s one of the world’s most famous porn stars.
