Ten Seconds to Death

With the coronavirus and the flu in the news, here’s a new game to play to give out prizes called Ten Seconds to Death,.  Get into WebMD and research old diseases from centuries ago that everyone has heard of, but have long been cured.  Give out the symptoms and the caller must identify the disease to win the prize (that was the bubonic plague!).

Work and Real Husband Give You VD

We’re doing a fun thing this week with Salt and Christine, 96.5 WTIC-FM, Hartford.  Christine has been married for a while and the Valentine’s Day gifts from her spouse have grown less inspiring.  So, Christine will challenge her real husband and Salt (her work husband) to conspire to come up with a great Valentine’s Day gift for her.  Their “collusion” will be fun to follow along through the week.

Girl Dads

With all the pictures of Kobe Bryant and his daughter on social media in the last week, celebrate Girl Dads by putting on fathers of daughters so they can gush about them.

The Cubicle Casanova

Many of your listeners are married to a guy who gave up on Valentine’s Day years ago.  Find a person musically inclined (or grab those in your cast who can sing and play an instrument) and visit a few at work to serenade them for the holiday.  Call it The Cubicle Casanova. Produce a few the week before – audio for the show the week of Valentine’s Day, and the video for social media.

The Super Bowl Day Off

The Super Bowl is less than two weeks away.  What would you do to make sparkle getting one listener the day off from work the day after the Super Bowl?  Every year we hear chatter that that Monday should be a holiday – make it come true for one listener in a way that’s big, bold, and fun.

The Weight Loss Safe Zone

Where are many listeners going in the first half hour of your show each day?  To the gym.  Find a bunch via social media and spend the next few weeks checking on them early in the morning to make sure they are headed there and to support their weight loss efforts.

The New Year’s Resolution That Isn’t Yours

Most shows will ask listeners this week what their New Year’s resolution is (snooze).  Ask it differently, by asking the audience to call and offer up a New Year’s resolution for their boss.

The Hardest on Your List

Each of us has at least one person on our holiday gift list who is impossible to buy for.  Grab that person, introduce them to the audience this week, let the audience get to know them, and then get listeners to solve your problem by suggesting gift ideas.

The Peleton Ad

No doubt people are talking about the Peleton ad.  Time for your version of this – which would be especially powerful on social media given it’s visual.  Re-write the ad, find an exercise bike, put your least in shape cast member on it who’ll draw attention to himself (choose a guy), and watch it go viral.  Ryan Reynolds did to promote his brand of gin.  You should do it to promote your show.

The Frozen Sing Off

Now that Frozen 2 has been in theaters for a couple of weeks, let’s place their music to the test.  It’s been said that every mother can sing near any song from the first movie, because they’ve had to see it hundreds of times.  How about the same for fathers?  Walk around your building and challenge moms to sing any song from the first Frozen – and then challenge any co-workers who are fathers to see if there is a disparity!
